Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) has been providing safe, customer-focused service to the citizens of Berks County since 1973 and is seeking applicants for full-time shared ride operators.
Valid PA Driver’s License with an acceptable driving history report from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles is required, along with experience in customer service. Must also be able to pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical and D.O.T. drug and alcohol testing.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.85 per hour

UTILITY WORKER
Berks Regional Transportation Authority (BARTA) is currently accepting applications for Full-time Garage Utility Worker position hours are Monday through Friday 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM.
Responsible for probing, emptying the fare box, fueling, checking fluids, and washing, moving, and parking Authority vehicles. Also responsible for simple miscellaneous repairs, such as adjusting mirrors, topping off fluids, etc. Responsible for assisting mechanics with moving, repairing or testing and cleaning of parts for automotive equipment. Cleaning shop and wash work area as needed. Utility workers are not required to have tools.
Employee must have a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement. Employee must be able to perform long periods of walking. Employee must be able to lift a maximum of 40lbs. Employee must be able to work independently and be able to resolve problems as they arise. Employee must be able to communicate well with other departments including drivers, mechanics, cleaners, and dispatchers.
Must be able to pass D.O.T. pre-employment physical and D.O.T. drug and alcohol testing. BARTA offers a competitive starting rate, excellent benefits and pension.
