Lost and Found
If you think you have lost something on a BARTA vehicle or at the BTC, call BARTA at 610-921-0601. For items lost on vehicles, please give the Dispatcher the following information: What it was that you lost, on which bus or route you think you lost the item, at what time you think you lost the item and where you were sitting on the bus. We will try to find the item or identify if any item matching your description has been turned into a driver, customer service agent, or facility guard.
Does BARTA accept Credit Card Purchases?
Currently at this time BARTA does not accept a credit card for the purchase of passes at sales locations. All transactions must be in cash or by personal check. BARTA will be investigating the potential for credit card and on-line sales in the future.
What locations are served by BARTA fixed route services?
The BARTA service map and schedule details contained on this website show all destinations reached by BARTA fixed route services. If you live in or would wish to travel to a part of Berks County not already served by fixed route service please let us know.
What will Franklin Street Station be used for?
The newly rededicated Franklin Street Station has been restored for use as a bus transportation hub. It will provide for additional capacity for any new or expanded BARTA services, as the currently in use BTC has reached its maximum capacity. While restored passenger rail service to/from Reading is not anticipated at this time, the station would be able to accommodate this mode of travel in the future.
Do you have student discounts on passes?
BARTA has student discounts for children aged 6 to 18 (in grades 1 to 12). A school ID is required as proof of student status. Student discounts are not available for college students.
I ride my bike to the bus stop. Can I take my bike on the bus with me?

Can I buy passes on the bus?
Yes, BARTA’s One Day Anywhere Passes are available to purchase at the farebox. All other passes, such as 10 Trip Tickets and 31 Day Passes are available for advanced purchase at BARTA offices, the BTC and Boscov’s sales locations.
Can I bring food on the bus?
Food and drinks are not permitted on the bus. A trash container is on the bus for disposal when you board.
Can I smoke on the bus?
Smoking is prohibited on all BARTA buses.
